    Don’t Talk To Me Until I’ve Had My Strega

    Bafflingly so, the Espresso Martini continues it’s years long trend of popularity. I get it, it’s easy to drink, tastes like a mocha (kinda), and it has booze. But really, I think any cocktail nerd knows the Espresso Martini is a bit basic. First of all your base is Vodka… so like, what’s the point in that?

    Hence, the Don’t Talk To Me Until I’ve Had My Strega cocktail. Starting with the basic idea of the Chartreuse Cappuccino, I took it out of the cafe format and into the bar, if you will. There’s of ton of complexity in this drink, you get a lot of coffee upfront, which gives way to a ton of herbal complexity with the three different liquors we have going on. All of that is supported by the bourbon, giving the drink the right heat and backbone. The drink finishes refreshing and minty and lingers on the palate. This is easily one of my favorite coffee cocktails.

    The Holy Trinity Cocktail

    This drink was born from my love for a Tequila Old Fashioned, my personal favorite of the ‘fashions.

    Clearly, I had to come up with some sort of twist. I knew that I wanted to work with dried chiles, and the first dish to come to mind was Mole Negro. Mole is a deeply spiced, earthy, fruity, and savory salsa that pairs exceptionally well with chicken. It uses a base of three dried chiles (known as the holy trinity) and a large variety of spices, cacao, citrus to create one of the deepest and most complex flavor profiles in a dish.
